Presentation to Oil Technics

An environmental technology company has welcomed a visit by Lord Digby Jones, Chairman of the International Advisory Board of HSBC.

Aberdeenshire-based Oil Technics scooped the HSBC Business Thinking 2010 Regional Final for Scotland & Northern Ireland at the end of last year and were one of only 18 companies from across the UK to compete at the finals in Hong Kong in December 2010.

Lord Jones made a follow-up visit to the Oil Technics facility

Lord Jones was one of the judging board and was impressed with the presentation Oil Technics made. In his capacity as Chairman of the International Advisory Board of HSBC, Lord Jones made a follow-up visit to the Oil Technics facility on Wednesday morning and said: “What a wonderful British business! Innovative, world-class and exactly where UK business should be in a globalized economy.

“By creating sustainable and quality jobs in Scotland, Oil Technics has proved that you can win in a race for the best by investment, training and product development.”

The Business Thinking 2010 was a new initiative set up by HSBC in order to find the UK’s most innovative and forward thinking companies. General Manager and owner of Oil Technics, David Evans, who met Lord Jones at the Hong Kong finals, said: “Oil Technics prides itself on its unique product range and thinking style and to have this recognised by the HSBC initiative was a wonderful achievement.

HSBC Business Thinking competition
“Being part of the HSBC Business Thinking competition has been a fantastic opportunity for the company as a whole. It has given us the chance to network with a variety of companies from across the world and also with leading HSBC executives.

“We were delighted to welcome Lord Jones to our facility today and were grateful for the opportunity to be able to talk with him in more detail about our future business plans.”

The company is in the process of launching a new innovative range of hospital disinfection products which use its patent-pending water-based technology. The range is designed to help stop the spread of hospital acquired infections.
